Savitaben can walk her grandchildren to school!

clip_image002
Dear George,

Savitaben of Bidaj village has 3 sons and 9 grandsons and granddaughters. Before she contracted a cataract, Savitaben dropped off and picked up her grandchildren from school everyday. Because of her failing vision her family members advised her to stay at home, worrying she might hurt herself as she crossed the road. Because of her cataract her vision was restricted to 20/400, (anything below 20/200 is considered legally blind). Savitaben was first identified as having a cataract in a BPA outreach camp.  Soon after, she was brought to the BPA hospital for surgery. The surgery has improved her vision to 20/30. Now her family members are very confident about allowing her to walk their children to school!  Savitaben is thrilled to have her eyesight back.  Thank you George for supporting Savitaben and the Blind People’s Assocation!
