Shweta looks happy with her new Braille slate

Shewta Vadher
Dear Pooja,

Shweta is a resident of Ahmedabad and is eighteen years old. Her family consists of her parents, one brother and two sisters. Shweta’s father mends shoes and her mother is a housewife. They barely make enough to meet the needs of the family.

Shweta is not blind by birth. At the age of four years, she contracted chicken pox and lost the sight in both eyes. Shweta’s younger brother is also blind. She is currently studying in the eighth grade at a school which caters exclusively to visually impaired girls. After graduating from school she wants to become a Sanskrit language teacher.

Your donation, Pooja, enabled Blind Person’s Association to donate a Braille kit to Shweta, which has made it much easier for her to keep up with her class.

Thank you for taking Shweta closer to her dreams.
