Shaikh Jabirmiya Alladin first contracted polio at the age of 2 years. By the age of 30 he had completed his board exams, and was sitting idly at home in his village of Billaj in the Kheda District. Jabirmiya is the eldest in his family, with two little sisters and one younger brother, and he felt a responsibility to help his parents, who were finding it difficult to support their four children on his father’s salary as a farmer. Jabirmiya heard about the Vocational Courses run by BPA and he started a course in Computer Software Data Processing. After successful completion of this course, he wanted to move to a larger city to find employment, but found it difficult to leave his village with his handicap. Thanks to a very generous gift from Bruce of a hand powered tricycle, there are now many more opportunities available to Jabirmiya, and he hopes to move to a larger city to find employment that will help support his family!
See where the hand-powered tricycles are made!
