Kamlesh wants a life filled with musical notes..

Kamlesh Machhi
Dear Jatinder,

Seventeen year old Kamlesh Machhi’s story is a rather tragic one. Kamlesh lost both his parents at the tender age of one and has no siblings. There was no one to care for him except for his old grandmother who herself works as a maid to make ends meet.

Kamlesh and his grandmother live in the village of Bodeli in Sankheda Taluka of Baroda District. The grandmother brought him up with much difficulty, barely earning enough to meet their needs. Moreover, Kamlesh was born completely blind which meant he needed constant supervision till he was able enough to do his chores himself. His condition however, did not deter the grandmother from getting her only grandson educated and Kamlesh was enrolled in a school in Baroda District where he completed his secondary education from.

Wanting to study more, Kamlesh joined the Adult Training Centre for the Blind run by Blind People’s Association, Ahmedabad where he is currently undergoing training. He soon realized the need for a Braille kit to help him in his studies and applied for one at the Blind People’s Association.

It’s thanks to your generous donation, Jatinder, that BPA was able to provide him with a Braille kit. Kamlesh is also pursuing his music course along with his regular studies and wishes to make a career in singing.

Your gift means a lot to Kamlesh and his grandmother, who would not have been able to afford buying one, on their own.

Thank you, Jatinder, for your gift of a Braille kit!
